Anna Porańska

I am a psychologist, psychotherapist, breathing coach and a certified Addiction Therapy Specialist. I have been providing psychotherapeutic support for over 25 years. I work with adults. I provide individual psychotherapy and couples/marriage therapy, and I run various types of support, therapeutic and development groups.

In terms of the techniques I offer, in addition to those associated with traditional therapeutic work, I use breathing exercises and sessions – Rebirthing – and incorporate bodywork into my psychotherapeutic practice.

I am:
– a Master of Psychology – a graduate of the University of Wrocław, specialising in Psychology.
– a graduate of the School of Interpersonal and Therapeutic Training at the Alternative Education Workshop.
– a graduate of the Centre for Psychological Education in Wrocław – School of Psychological Assistance: Gestalt Therapy.
– A Certified Addiction Therapy Specialist.
– Currently undertaking a four-and-a-half-year course in Ericksonian psychotherapy run by the Polish Ericksonian Institute in Łódź.

I undergo regular supervision of my work. In my practice, I focus on the person as a whole, taking a holistic approach to both the individual and the issue they present. When working with others and helping them, I take into account their functioning across four dimensions – emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual. I understand mental health, and thus the possibility of a good life, as a balance between these dimensions.

My work with clients involves looking at themselves in all these aspects and seeking harmony within them. I believe that the resources each of us possesses play an important role in restoring well-being and balance in life. When working with others, I help them discover these resources and make use of them in their daily lives. From my perspective, an important aspect of therapeutic work is getting to know one’s own life story and family relationships, examining oneself against the backdrop of one’s family of origin, and understanding all of this within the context of one’s own adult life.

Understanding and identifying the source of one’s expectations, desires and attitudes, as well as experiencing and understanding one’s emotions, allows one to fully reclaim one’s own power, stand on one’s own two feet and take responsibility for one’s personal choices and life.

I specialise primarily in Ericksonian therapy, Gestalt therapy, the systemic approach, and body-oriented work – trauma work and breathing exercises (Rebirthing).

In my private life, I enjoy spending my holidays sailing in Masuria, and I like getting out of the city, particularly to places with water and mountains. I have many acquaintances and a group of friends with whom, whenever I can, I spend time simply being together and having hours-long conversations about everything that affects us, concerns us, we experience, and that reaches us…

I am someone seeking experiences in the field of personal development – including methods that are alternative to mainstream psychology.
